About Gibbons and Ireland Branches (Helmore,Hollow,Napper,Neaves,Mayoh,Robinett,Smalley,Waddicor,Wines)
ARRIVAL IN AUSTRALIA

THE WINES FAMILY - Simeon Wines (brother to Susan Wines) was sent to Van  Diemans Land in 1833. He arrived 16 Feb 1833 at Hobart Town, Van Diemans Land.  He was convict 503. That began the Australian history for the Wines family.

THE ROBINETT FAMILY - Robert and Catherine (nee Neaves) with their children,  Elizabeth 11, Mary 8, Hannah 3 and Samuel 1 (my Great great grandfather)  arrived in Australia aboard the ROYAL GEORGE in November 1849. Sadly Mary died  7 days before arriving. They came to Victoria under the 'Assisted British  Immigration Scheme'

THE BASCOMBE FAMILY - Thomas Bascombe with wife Tryphena (nee Lane) arrived in Port  Adelaide on the 2 June 1852 aboard the SURGE, with son Thomas aged 5 and daughter  Anna Maria aged 1

THE HALLS FAMILY - Isaac with his brothers, David and Matthew arrived in Adelaide on  24 August 1852 aboard the OMEGA.

THE GIBBONS FAMILY migrated to Adelaide South Australia arriving 28th November  1856 aboard the LORD HUNGERFORD. They left Plymouth England on 2nd August  1856. They travelled with 294 Government emigrants and cargo for settlement in  South Australia. Arriving was Thomas Gibbons, aged 31, his wife Mary Ann (nee  Helmore) aged 27, and their children, Emmanuel aged 7, John aged 4 (my Great  grandfather) and Charles aged 2. Johanna was born at Morphett Vale on 4th May  1857.

THE IRELAND FAMILY - Simeon and Fanny (nee Napper) left England on 17th March  1862 aboard the BOANGERGES for Victoria where they arrived 9th July 1862.  Fanny's sister, Eliza and her husband Robert Denman came out with them.

THE SMALLEY FAMILY - were the last to arrive. Robert and Nellie (nee Mayoh)  did not come out until November 1922 from Lancashire. Robert served in the  English Army (9/11/1916-1919) as a bombardier and eventually was sent to Egypt  to train Australian troops. He was given such glowing terms of Australia, that  he booked his passage. He came to Australia  March 1922 on the OSTERLEY  arriving at Port B as an 'unassited' immigrant. After his arrival he sent for  his wife and children in November 1922. They first settled in East Melbourne. Nellie came to Victoria on the 'DEMOSTHENES' in November 1922 as a 37 year  old. With her were her two children, Esther 10 and Robert 8. They came to  Australia as 'unassisted' immigrants. They arrived at Port B, Victoria. Their  youngest son, Jack was born in Victoria in 1924

 What a great turn out we had and such beautiful weather.  I think everybody  had a great weekend and we all did a lot of information sharing. Thanks go to  Trevor, Ronald, Lorraine, Cheryl and Marlene for all their hard work to make  it all work.

The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.
